We reread the town of Kitano as a bath where light plays. Mediated by the reflected light of Mt. Rokko and the memory of pearls, we receive the site as an empty shell—and by passing breath through it—light, sound, and bodies—we raise its hidden layers to the surface. We don’t deliver finished meanings. Spectators borrow only as much of the artist’s vantage as they need; the rest they re-edit with their own eyes.
The stage is the Rose Garden courtyard. Wall reflections, footfalls, wind, the warp of time—the temperature gaps already present in the city become our material, and the place itself flips into the performer. The aim isn’t explanation but a refresh of perception. With each breath, Kitano shows another face. This isn’t a spa; it’s a bath where memory wells up. Questions are born; viewpoints swap. That instant is the core of the performance.
